Portraiture

There are many reasons to have a professional portrait sitting, and there are many things that portrait photography might encompass. Perhaps you want a family portrait for yourself. Or you would like some photographs of a new baby to hang on the wall or to give to grandparents. Maybe you want some classy yet sexy pictures to give your partner. Pregnant women might like beautiful images to record this wonderful time in their life, while established and aspiring models and actors might want to rejuvenate a portfolio or create one from scratch.

Equally, companies need portraits of their key staff for websites, brochures and editorial features. Corporate portraits are an integral part of good commercial public relations. While a crisp studio headshot might be great in some cases, if you want to persuade an editor to give your feature a big splash, a well composed environmental portrait photograph will make all the difference.

Most people – and I include myself in this – do not relish the prospect of being in front of the camera. But I pride myself on making what is an unnatural experience relaxing and fun-filled. Clients frequently tell me how much they enjoy the experience, and how unexpected it is to feel that way. Portraiture is a field in which I excel, having won the 2020 Portrait of Britain Award, and been shortlisted for the same award in 2022, so you can be confident of results you will love.

Studio portraits, home sittings, makeovers, and portfolios – contact me to discuss your portrait photography requirements. Polished results can be priceless without costing the earth, and the experience can be surprisingly enjoyable. And of course, look at some examples of my work!
