Weddings and civil partnerships are arguably the most testing discipline for any photographer. Other jobs might allow for reshoots but weddings need to be right; first time, every time. The modern wedding is all types of photography rolled into one: fashion, glamour, reportage, group-portrait, product and architectural shoot. The couple want the best, but they don’t want it to interfere with their day. It needs to be minimum fuss, maximum style. What that needs is diplomacy, tact, humour, patience… and skill.

I am an expert wedding photographer with a reputation for an engaging manner and a distinct vision. Offering traditional and reportage styles. I have a simple rule of thumb: produce the best photographs possible, but not at the expense of the couple’s enjoyment of their day. Relaxed, fun, and absolutely in keeping with what these occasions are about: romance, style, laughter, family and friends.

Same sex weddings

Small weddings. Large weddings. Destination weddings. Same sex weddings. Modern weddings. Unusual weddings. I do them all, and there is almost nothing I have not seen. I often think I should write “Confessions of a Wedding Photographer”, but I will save that for retirement, not that I ever see myself putting my cameras down. The point is that while all weddings are fundamentally the same, each is unique and individual. I treat every couple as special and approach each wedding as though it is the most important event I have ever covered.

I am happy to meet with prospective couples to discuss their needs and show samples of work. Generally all things are possible, whether the event is just up the road or on a different continent.
